Sebum: Definition, Causes, Preventions

The excess sebum is manifested by shiny and oily skin in certain areas of the face such as the nose, forehead or chin. This promotes the spread of bacteria which can lead to the appearance of blackheads and acne. There are many factors: contraception, stress, tobacco, puberty, pollution, a diet that is too fatty, etc that can contribute towards excessive production of sebum.  To protect yourself against excess sebum, here are 4 things you can do to control sebum naturally.

  1. Use non-aggressive products– To fight naturally against excess sebum, you must start by adopting a routine that will cleanse the skin morning and evening. Choose natural and gentle treatments that are gentle on the skin. Choose cleansing gel made from aloe vera which brings freshness to the skin. In addition to that, consider performing a gentle exfoliation and applying a clay mask once or twice a week. Clay is known for its effectiveness in absorption and purifying on oily skin. Also, be sure to wash your face morning and night, then apply a moisturizer. Impeccable hygiene is essential to naturally control sebum.
